De Eregalerij van het Rijksmuseum, de gildezaal in het Frans Halsmuseum of in het Amsterdam Museum. De gezichten van de gildemeesters of schouten bij nacht, die je aan kijken. Ik noem het <span id=\":12.4\" class=\"goog-spellcheck-word\" tabindex=\"-1\">selfies<\/span> avant la lettre. Het was de beeldtaal van de Republiek. En nergens hadden mensen zoveel schilderijen in huis als in Amsterdam, constateerde een Franse reiziger al in het Amsterdam van de Gouden Eeuw. Op portretten worden hele verhalen verteld, over de mensen en hun leven. De blozende Hollandse koppen. De <span id=\":12.5\" class=\"goog-spellcheck-word\" tabindex=\"-1\">hipster<\/span>, Hercules van <span id=\":12.6\" class=\"goog-spellcheck-word\" tabindex=\"-1\">Goltzius<\/span> die ik fotografeerde in Haarlem of de edelman van Goya in het Rijksmuseum. Om te ontdekken, wat en hoe men at in de rijke Republiek. Vis, citroenen, maatjes peper, gerookte makreel, kreeft, Hollandse kazen en oesters. deze laatste als symbool van de zinnelijkheid of ondeugd in het land van Calvijn. Vandaag een <span id=\":12.11\" class=\"goog-spellcheck-word\" tabindex=\"-1\">foodparade,\u00a0<\/span>eten in de 17e eeuw. Nu doen we het met onze mobiel, destijds werden <span id=\":12.12\" class=\"goog-spellcheck-word\" tabindex=\"-1\">foodplaatjes<\/span> geschoten met het penseel. Er is nog niet zoveel veranderd.<\/p>\n<p class=\"separator\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-Cl8GGyZiKTE\/VcBnDQxobuI\/AAAAAAAACfo\/lh5jPD9JeE0\/s1600\/franshalsmuseum.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-Cl8GGyZiKTE\/VcBnDQxobuI\/AAAAAAAACfo\/lh5jPD9JeE0\/s320\/franshalsmuseum.jpg?resize=320%2C179&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"179\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>\u00a0De tafel in de gilde zaal van het Frans Halsmuseum in Haarlem. De heren zaten aan aan wel gevulde schalen vol lekkernijen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"separator\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-M_Od-27RBMs\/VcBnG1Zh3SI\/AAAAAAAACfw\/ejA0gQfyPok\/s1600\/bacchus.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-M_Od-27RBMs\/VcBnG1Zh3SI\/AAAAAAAACfw\/ejA0gQfyPok\/s320\/bacchus.jpg?resize=320%2C179&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"179\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>\u00a0Een bacchanaal voor de god van de wijn.
